and how abuse took its toll.
You close your eyes and you see her beauty.
You see how the pain shaped her mind
but it’s as if it’s divinely designed.
You open your eyes and try to turn on the lights.
You’ve touched every shadow there is to pursue
but let me remind you,
she’s only pretty in the dark.

Jessica is a follower of Christ and a multifaceted creative that uses her passion for writing to communicate her unique world view. Although she is currently a barista and server by trade, she hopes to one day publish a book and work in the music industry as a song writer.
